About Me

Hi, I'm Lou!

I'm Lou Walpole, a professional photographer based in Dorrigo, NSW, with more than 25 years of experience. Locally, I'm known to many simply as "Lou the Photographer."

My work covers people, places and a bit of everything in between, from family portraits and weddings to schools, community events and commercial photography.

I've always been drawn to colour, character and the personalities of the people I photograph. I enjoy creating portraits, but I also like observing and documenting the moments that happen naturally. Much of my work over the years has involved photographing people and everyday life around Dorrigo and the surrounding area.

My portrait photography has received national recognition, including being named a semi-finalist in the Head On Portrait Prize and a finalist in the Olive Cotton Award for Photographic Portraiture.

Alongside my photography, I run Dorrigo Photographic Services with my husband, Ralf, where we offer professional photographic printing, fine art printing.

Getting in Touch

Dorrigo Photographic Services now operates online and by appointment from our offsite studio, following the closure of our retail shopfront.

Local appointments can be arranged at our Studio, at the Never Never Mind, 16 Cudgery Street, Dorrigo, on Fridays, or in town by appointment only.
